PERSONAL PROJECTS
Each year I try and put together at least one personal project. As a photographer you really do have a passport to the lives of others, which is a hugely privileged position to be in. I've always been drawn to the exploration of identity and isolation, through a combination of portraiture and documentary.
My two standout projects in the last couple of years are my series' #ForTheNow and Lockdown Kids. #ForTheNow is an exploration of life at Chestnut Tree House Childrens' Hospice, through the stories of Charlotte and Jacob, both with life limiting conditions. The series was exhibited at The Green Tree Gallery in Haywards Heath and featured on the BBC news. Lockdown Kids is a project that I shot during the first Covid lockdown in May/June 2020. The project is still to be fully curated and published, but it is a body of work that was such a release to create and a real moment in history.
