Lockdown Kids is a project that I shot during the first Covid lockdown in May/June 2020. The project is still to be fully curated and published, but it is a body of work that was such a release to create and a real moment in history. I photographed individual children in front of their homes, alone and lit dramatically. I gave the kids very little direction and allowed them to be however they wanted to be, and although they are the focus, there is so much to read in the images outside of the children. Each portrait is set outside their home in Sussex, each one so different; chalk rainbows, 'save our NHS' signs, wellies, dogs, lockdown hair, odd socks....
